Группа образована в 1961 году в Голландии.
В 1961 году братья Ян и Ханс Вермюлен организовали группу “Sandy Coast Skiffle Group”, которая чуть позже сменила название на “Sandy Coast Rockers”, и наконец, на “Sandy Coast”.
В 1965 году группа выиграла конкурс талантов, организованный голландским журналом “Hitwezen”. “Relax Records” предложила ребятам контракт и выпустила первые синглы.
“Being in Love” и “Subject of My Thought” постоянно крутили на пиратской радиостанции “Radio Veronica”. Несмотря на то, что синглы не продавались должным образом и не попали даже в голландский Тор 40, ансамбль все-таки стал довольно популярным в Голландии.
В 1966 году удача повернулась лицом...
