The Scarlet Furies is a folk/roots band fronted by a beautiful young singer, songwriter Raleigh Holmes. After spending a year writing and wood shedding together, The Scarlet Furies played over 40 shows last year with folks like Leon Russell, The Subdudes, and Peter Asher, and have been getting rave reviews for our first CD "Dark Clad Company", Produced by longtime Paul McCartney guitarist Rusty Anderson, and mastered by Gavin Lurssen (T Bone Burnett). They also recently completed the soundtrack and score for the hit video game "Gray Matter", which is taking Europe by storm.

The Saga of The Scarlet Furies

The Scarlet Furies has a curious history. The 5 guys in the band went to high school together and formed assorted popular bands over the years. Time passed and they went their separate ways. When Robert’s daughter, Raleigh, moved to L.A., her agent asked her to put together a vocal showcase to show off her amazing crystal clear alto voice and songwriting. Robert sought out his old band members to back the gig and an eerie magic was made. Knowing a good thing when they heard it, The Scarlet Furies was born.

Raleigh brings her waifish, Audrey Hepburn looks and a vintage Southern Gothic sensibility to the band’s style. Her lyrics come from some deep, dark place. The guys' instrumentation and arrangements are determinedly rootsy and acoustic, layering textures of riffs and vocal harmonies. They all share a musical sympathy, sounding at once like they are testing and discovering, a unique voice with stories to tell, steadily gaining ground and generating quite a buzz.
