Júlio Pereira is an instrumentalist since the age of seven – when he learned how to play the mandolin bandolim. He took part in the 60/70 rock movement, as a guitar player and leader of several bands, and in the Portuguese music renovation that followed the 25 April Revolution of 1974, working together with the singer songwriters in Portugal. He recorded some albums until 1979 and began a regular partnership work with José Afonso (the most important Portuguese singer songwriter) in European concerts and also as a co-producer of his last albums.
